Questions ~

So, here we are 8 days after the "election".  I put that in quotation marks because I personally believe that had this been a truly free and fair election the results would look DRASTICALLY different.  And so, yes, I believe fraud and deception won out and this election was stolen.  I believe this issue needs to be figured out, and so, I press on.  I am contacting state governors and secretary of each state in the swing states requesting there be a recount.  You should do the same.  I'm using the letter I previously posted.  Please feel free to use it yourself.  Here is a link that has all the contact information you will need.

Anyhooooooo.............

I have a few questions ~ for those who know.  I was young ~ like born in 1979 young ~ when President Reagan was our president.  I don't really remember much from a political standpoint (from much of any standpoint, as a matter of fact) about that era.
Then moving on to George HW Bush's administration ~ I kinda sorta remember that.  I remember the Gulf War.  I think I remember it so well because we lived in a town with an Air Force base and talk of deployments were rampant.  I remember the gas wars.  I remember when gas was $.88/gallon ~ those were truly the good ole' days.  Then I can vaguely remember watching the debates between President Bush I, Ross Perot, and Bill Clinton.  I remember becoming more aware  of things like that because I would get upset that Who's the Boss and The Commish weren't on those nights because of those stupid heads on their.  Oy.
And I can remember somewhat of Clinton's presidency.  But still it didn't occur to me to be "into" it.  I remember when Rush Limbaugh came on the scene ~ being a ditto head wasn't a term of endearment but I think some people relished it!  I know that I would now!  And yes, even as a young innocent naive girl just becoming a teenager, and eventually a woman during the Clinton years, I remember the scandals that rocked the White House.  I remember after the whole Monica Lewinsky affair and the "I did not have sexual relations with that woman" ~ I remember watching Bill, Hillary and Chelsea walking to Marine 1 and Bill tried to take Hillary's hand and I can remember watching her pull away (at least I think I can remember that ;)  ).  I remember when the Twin Towers got bombed the first time.  I remember when Timothy McVeigh blew up the Government building in OKC and how utterly devastated I was watching the faces of all those little babies who died in the daycare center there.  I remember standing with my church in a life chain on Pro-life Sunday.  I remember all that.

So, all that to ask my questions ~ what was conservatism in America like back then?  What was the Reagan Presidency like?  And the following years ~ how did conservatism react to the election of Bill Clinton?  Was it different from what it feels like now?  Was there the feeling that "this is NOT a good thing"?  A can our country survive another 4 years of this?

I'm curious because those are the feelings I'm facing right now.  I'm worried and weary and fear that what once made our country great is no longer there.  America traded her greatness for an Obamaphone, and can we truly be a great nation again?  A free nation?   I fear we traded our freedom for the chains of slavery all for the sake of entitlements.  And I fear that my children will never know how great America once was and will be again.  I fear that America chose tyranny for free contraception.

An Open letter to the Republican Leadership


Dear Sirs and Madams:
Today, I am writing to you because I am a member of the Republican party.  You are the leaders of the Party with whom I identify.  So, as such, I am turning to you hoping that you will do something. 
As President Reagan once said, “Concentrated power has always been the enemy of liberty.”  And for this reason, I implore you to please read and listen to the sentiments conveyed in this letter.  As of late November 7, 2012, WE THE PEOPLE are facing unprecedented threats to our liberty.  WE THE PEOPLE are facing a massively large government that will threaten the very ideals that we as Americans hold close and dear to our hearts. 
I am appalled and more than angry about the events that transpired on November 6, 2012.  That was the day of our supposed fair and free election.  The events to which I am referring to are the rampant cases of voter fraud in the swing states.  And I’m sure in areas of other states, too.  Rampant cases of Republican poll workers being unseated and barred from doing their job.  And even then not allowed back in even with a court order. 
WE THE PEOPLE do not believe the numbers that are being given to us as to the actual voter turnout on November 6th.  We cannot see the massive number of attendees at Romney Ryan events just days before the election then to be told that Mitt Romney received upwards to 3 million less votes than John McCain received in 2008.  We do not believe the numbers that are being shoved down our throats by every supposed news organization. 
WE THE PEOPLE are tired of being lied to.  WE THE PEOPLE are not going to sit and take it anymore.  But what can WE THE PEOPLE do?  We can make our voices heard.
WE THE PEOPLE are calling on you, the leadership and representatives of not only our party but of those in the government, to do what needs to be done.  We are asking you to sequester all ballots at the state capitols.  We are asking you to demand an exam and a full recount of every ballot to ensure that every ballot cast was cast by voters who were legally able to cast it.  We are asking that you, our representatives, stand up and fight with us against the tyranny that is trying to descend on us. 
Let us, WE THE PEOPLE, be the spine that you desperately need.  Because we are tired of being told our values don’t matter and to move along because there is nothing here to see.  It’s hard to hide mountains of fraud, but we feel that is what you are doing, or at the very least ignoring it.  WE ARE NOT.  And we will not take it anymore.
President Reagan also said “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction.”  And I fear that if we don’t do something about the deception and fraud perpetrated on our country, we may just be seeing the extinction of freedom.  I want to give my children a free and a prosperous  America.   But, we need your help to do so.  Once our free and fair elections are stolen from us, we  are no longer a free country.  Let’s change this.

November 1st

Wow.  I believe I just officially gave up on blogging all together for a while there.  And now, here we sit.  Five days from election day, y'all.  FIVE. DAYS.  Five days until we have the opportunity to stop the downward spiral of our country.  Five days to give America another chance to turn back to her God.  The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.  The God who loved us so much HE gave us HIS Son to die in our place.  We are of all people most blessed.  I'm grateful for this country.  And I cannot wait to cast my vote for Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan.  It is with clear eyes and full hearts we will do so, and we cannot lose.

And in that spirit, I would like to post here why I will be casting my vote the way I am going to.  I didn't write the following, it is simply just a copy and paste from facebook, but it is what I believe!

WHO WILL GET MY VOTE ??? 
*I will vote for the most pro-life candidate, because God hates the shedding of innocent blood(Proverbs 6:17). 
*I will vote for the most pro-Israel candidate, because God blesses those who bless Israel and curses those who don't(Genesis 12:3). 
*I will vote for the most pro-debt reduction candidate, because the borrower is servant to the lender(Proverbs 22:7).
*I will vo
te for the most pro-work candidate, because God says if a man does not work, let him not eat(2 Thessalonians 3:10).
...*I will vote for the most pro-marriage candidate, because God is for marriage as defined in (Genesis 2:24).
*I will vote for the candidate who most closely believes governments purpose is to reward the good and punish the evil(Romans 13).
*I will vote based as closely as I can on Gods word(2 Timothy 3:16),
I will vote for Romney/Ryan.... knowing whoever gets elected, God is the One who puts all men in authority(Daniel 2:21).
If you are offended by the fact that I stated who I'm voting for,....I would say I'm sorry.....if I were sorry, but I'm not. I still love my country, and I'm afraid that this may be our last chance to preserve it for our children.
Yes, I know that the only real hope for us is Revival, but I will not stand Idly by and watch as the America that my forefathers bled and died for is changed into something they would not even recognize.
May God have mercy on America! 





And this is why on November 6th I will cast my vote for Mitt Romney/Paul Ryan, Ann Marie Buerkle, Wendy Long and Don Miller.  


Don't just vote for someone who says nice words.  Vote for someone who has convictions.  Vote for someone who holds as closely as possible to what you firmly believe.  Any vote cast is a vote for History.  Know who you are voting for and why you want to vote for them.   And just vote.  Vote. VOTE.  Many died to give us this right to vote.  So use it!

LOST and ATT

So, my former excitement about the possibility of Sen. Kelly Ayotte is officially over.  Why?!  Because she is one of about 20 Senators who have agreed to approve Law of the Sea Treaty.  They are joining democrats to uphold this treaty.  It is a treaty that President Reagan was against citing it was going to impede our sovereignty as a nation.

I personally have tweeted all the Senators who are supporting LOST and asked them to oppose it.  I have also sent emails via this link asking my Senators to oppose it, also.  Although it is highly unlikely they will seeing as they are both democrats who tow the party line.

{Although, I do give Senator Schumer a little admiration ~ I have emailed him actively recently voicing my opposition to alot of legislation, and I actually get personal emails from him, giving me an explanation of where he stands, and I admire that.  Don't agree with it most of the time, but I greatly the feedback from his office}

Another piece of legislation through the UN that will be hitting us this month is called the Arms Trade Treaty. Here is a great link telling what the ATT could mean for us in America and for our 2nd Amendment right to bear arms.   ATT and Forbes.  I signed a petition and sent it to my Senators and Congresswoman through this. And the scariest part of the ATT is this: Iran overseeing the ATT.  If it wasn't so deathly serious, it would be laughable.

So, do your part!  Become active, and involved.  And don't let our country disappear without fighting for it!

It's almost time ~

It is almost time for us to hear who Mitt Romney has chosen as his running mate.

Today, this picture came out:

And, so I looked up just who was this lady up there with Mitt Romney.  Her name is Kelly Ayotte.  And I wondered, are we looking at the 2012 Republican Presidential ticket.  So, I had to look her up.

And I like what I saw.  This website On the Issues is a great place to check for any candidate.  You should check her out.  And you can actually use that site to check out anyone whom you want to vote for, but can't seem to put your finger on where they stand.

In no way am I saying I think this is it.  I'm just saying that I could really get behind a Romney/Ayotte ticket.  But, I suppose we still have to wait and see who the actual VIP pick is!

When in the Course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

No man thinks more highly than I do of the patriotism, as well as abilities, of the very worthy gentlemen who have just addressed the House. But different men often see the same subject in different lights; and, therefore, I hope it will not be thought disrespectful to those gentlemen if, entertaining as I do opinions of a character very opposite to theirs, I shall speak forth my sentiments freely and without reserve. This is no time for ceremony. The questing before the House is one of awful moment to this country. For my own part, I consider it as nothing less than a question of freedom or slavery; and in proportion to the magnitude of the subject ought to be the freedom of the debate. It is only in this way that we can hope to arrive at truth, and fulfill the great responsibility which we hold to God and our country. Should I keep back my opinions at such a time, through fear of giving offense, I should consider myself as guilty of treason towards my country, and of an act of disloyalty toward the Majesty of Heaven, which I revere above all earthly kings.

Mr. President, it is natural to man to indulge in the illusions of hope. We are apt to shut our eyes against a painful truth, and listen to the song of that siren till she transforms us into beasts. Is this the part of wise men, engaged in a great and arduous struggle for liberty? Are we disposed to be of the number of those who, having eyes, see not, and, having ears, hear not, the things which so nearly concern their temporal salvation? For my part, whatever anguish of spirit it may cost, I am willing to know the whole truth; to know the worst, and to provide for it.

I have but one lamp by which my feet are guided, and that is the lamp of experience. I know of no way of judging of the future but by the past. And judging by the past, I wish to know what there has been in the conduct of the British ministry for the last ten years to justify those hopes with which gentlemen have been pleased to solace themselves and the House. Is it that insidious smile with which our petition has been lately received? Trust it not, sir; it will prove a snare to your feet. Suffer not yourselves to be betrayed with a kiss. Ask yourselves how this gracious reception of our petition comports with those warlike preparations which cover our waters and darken our land. Are fleets and armies necessary to a work of love and reconciliation? Have we shown ourselves so unwilling to be reconciled that force must be called in to win back our love? Let us not deceive ourselves, sir. These are the implements of war and subjugation; the last arguments to which kings resort. I ask gentlemen, sir, what means this martial array, if its purpose be not to force us to submission? Can gentlemen assign any other possible motive for it? Has Great Britain any enemy, in this quarter of the world, to call for all this accumulation of navies and armies? No, sir, she has none. They are meant for us: they can be meant for no other. They are sent over to bind and rivet upon us those chains which the British ministry have been so long forging. And what have we to oppose to them? Shall we try argument? Sir, we have been trying that for the last ten years. Have we anything new to offer upon the subject? Nothing. We have held the subject up in every light of which it is capable; but it has been all in vain. Shall we resort to entreaty and humble supplication? What terms shall we find which have not been already exhausted? Let us not, I beseech you, sir, deceive ourselves. Sir, we have done everything that could be done to avert the storm which is now coming on. We have petitioned; we have remonstrated; we have supplicated; we have prostrated ourselves before the throne, and have implored its interposition to arrest the tyrannical hands of the ministry and Parliament. Our petitions have been slighted; our remonstrances have produced additional violence and insult; our supplications have been disregarded; and we have been spurned, with contempt, from the foot of the throne! In vain, after these things, may we indulge the fond hope of peace and reconciliation. There is no longer any room for hope. If we wish to be free-- if we mean to preserve inviolate those inestimable privileges for which we have been so long contending--if we mean not basely to abandon the noble struggle in which we have been so long engaged, and which we have pledged ourselves never to abandon until the glorious object of our contest shall be obtained--we must fight! I repeat it, sir, we must fight! An appeal to arms and to the God of hosts is all that is left us!

They tell us, sir, that we are weak; unable to cope with so formidable an adversary. But when shall we be stronger? Will it be the next week, or the next year? Will it be when we are totally disarmed, and when a British guard shall be stationed in every house? Shall we gather strength by irresolution and inaction? Shall we acquire the means of effectual resistance by lying supinely on our backs and hugging the delusive phantom of hope, until our enemies shall have bound us hand and foot? Sir, we are not weak if we make a proper use of those means which the God of nature hath placed in our power. The millions of people, armed in the holy cause of liberty, and in such a country as that which we possess, are invincible by any force which our enemy can send against us. Besides, sir, we shall not fight our battles alone. There is a just God who presides over the destinies of nations, and who will raise up friends to fight our battles for us. The battle, sir, is not to the strong alone; it is to the vigilant, the active, the brave. Besides, sir, we have no election. If we were base enough to desire it, it is now too late to retire from the contest. There is no retreat but in submission and slavery! Our chains are forged! Their clanking may be heard on the plains of Boston! The war is inevitable--and let it come! I repeat it, sir, let it come.

It is in vain, sir, to extenuate the matter. Gentlemen may cry, Peace, Peace-- but there is no peace. The war is actually begun! The next gale that sweeps from the north will bring to our ears the clash of resounding arms! Our brethren are already in the field! Why stand we here idle? What is it that gentlemen wish? What would they have? Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? Forbid it, Almighty God! I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me liberty or give me death!

Fighting Back

I get so sick and tired of hearing the liberals, when they don't like that I don't like Obama's politics, they pull out what they think is their trump card.  "RACIST".  They have nothing else to use.  Obama has failed policies.  And no record that they can defend ~ can't tout Solyndra, Fast and Furious, Obamacare {it's a penalty, not a tax, ~ oh wait, it IS a tax} or anything else ~ and they HATE that.  So they do the only thing they can do.  Start pointing fingers at those of us who are conservative and screaming RACIST.   And really, what can you say after that?!  Well, you can fight back.  And tonight, I did.  I wrote a long response on a facebook post on a friends page ~ although, after the post, I really doubt they will consider me a friend now!  Here is what I posted:



And it is things like this that has SO divided our country in recent days. 
 ~ who is the one on here making ridiculous statements that those of us who don’t like Obama is because of his skin “pigmentation”?  And let me assure you, people were disgusted and angry at Clinton ~ there just wasn’t twitter and facebook that you could see every day.  Did you NEVER listen to Rush Limbaugh during the Clinton administration?!  I bet you didn’t. 

I am a proud right wing conservative and actively involved with getting Obama out of the White House.  Yet, it is people like ME who get accused of being a racist.  When most of the people in this country couldn’t care less if the president is white, black, brown, yellow, green or purple.  What I care about are his politics.   And when I (or others who are like-minded) won’t change my belief that his politics are WRONG, people throw around the word RACIST.  And, then, where can we go?  Well, I’m tired of it. 
There is no race issue in this country except the one that the extreme leftist media want to convince you that there is.  Disagreement, disapproval and strong dislike of a persons politics do NOT make one a racist.  If you see a racist in every disagreement, then maybe you should remember that when you point your finger at someone, you always have 3 pointing back at you, so maybe it’s time to take stock of yourself.  You are the one who brought up Amos and Andy and bedsheets ~ so who is the one perpetrating that narrative?!
Believe it or not, some (most) of us who disagree with Obama do so because of his politics.  I don’t get how that is such a foreign concept to people.  He pledged to uphold the constitution and yet at every turn, every opportunity, he circumvented it.  Still is, and still will.  He has disgraced the office that he holds by what he has done while in office. 
The leftist progressive media are doing what they can to keep the race narrative going to keep the minds of people off the failed policies and dismal record he has. 
And for the record, the government is NOT going to just pass out healthcare like candy at a parade.  You will either buy it ~ there hasn’t been any torte reform, so it’s going to just keep going up up up ~ or if you don’t/can’t buy it, you are going to get taxed out the wazoo.  Wait, we were told it wasn’t a tax by the administration, now it is.  Hmmm………Integrity issue.  You can call it whatever you want ~ put a pig in lipstick and it’s still a pig.  Tax or penalty there is no difference.  And yup ~ if you can’t afford healthcare now you DEFINITELY won’t be able to afford it because of Obamacare.  It’s not going to make getting better any cheaper, or a doctor more accessible.  It is actually going to do just the opposite.
Obama on so many occasions has circumvented congress entirely to independently enact amnesty.  Which he did, NOT to better someone but for political gain.  Hello, if Florida can’t kick the ineligible voters off the rolls, then they can still run to the polls to vote for sugar daddy Obama.  This administration’s entire attitude toward the states is to keep them in their place.   There are so many things I can continue with ~ Fast and Furious, Arizona, DOJ, DHS, but I won’t.  For now.
This is supposed to be a government OF THE PEOPLE, BY THE PEOPLE, and FOR THE PEOPLE, but unfortunately the only people they are for is themselves ~ self serving narcissistic people. 
Nothing is free.  EVERYTHING comes with a price.  The question is are you willing to let them just continue to take from you ~ to give your hard earned money to those who have found its easier to go to Walmart with a SNAP card and buy their name brand cereals, soda, chips and junk food while buying their beer, cigarettes and iphones.  When are you going to say ENOUGH.  And Fight for what is yours.  Democrats thrive on keeping you beholden to them with the promise of “taking care of you” and in so doing making us all slaves to them. 
I refuse to sit by and watch my country go to hell in a handbasket because the leftist progressive ideology wants to change our country into something it was never intended to be.

The race card should NEVER be used in this country.  And it is not the conservatives who keep up the derogatory narrative.  We don't have to take it anymore.  FIGHT.  PUSH BACK.  Don't let them race card you into silence.

And it's beginning

For the last few weeks, I have just been kind of annoyed with politics.  Oh, it would just make me ill.  I couldn't watch the news without feeling exasperated.

But now.   Oy vey!  NOW!  I feel re-energized!  Today is the recall election of Scott Walker ~ the Governor of Wisconsin who basically just made liberals mad.  He proposed a budget that would end the collective bargaining rights for state employees.  By doing so, Gov. Walker saved MILLIONS for the state.  But of course the unions don't like that.  Their coffers weren't getting as full under Gov. Walker.  So they don't like it.

Governor Walker has been GOOD for Wisconsin.  Here is an article about what has been happening in Wisconsin.

I just wanted to say that I support Governor Walker.  No politician is perfect.  I'm not stupid.  I understand.  But, we need those politicians like Governor Walker who will not be bullied.  Who will do the right thing for their constituents.

I also support Governor Rick Scott in Florida who has decided that he doesn't want his state to be involved with another "hanging chads" moment in this upcoming Presidential election.  He's trying to clean up the voter rolls in Florida but the Department of Justice has told them they can't do that.  DUH.  Eric Holder ~ state's rights much?!?!?!??!  And why wouldn't the department of JUSTICE (that term is relative for that department anymore) want the election to be fair and just.

So, I support Governor Walker and I am praying for the results.  And I support Governor Scott in Florida!

This is ramping up to be a very um, exciting, probably NASTY election year.  I'm starting to look forward to it!

It's about the direction, not the election

What in the world is this country coming to?  I truly don't get it.  It makes me ill as I watch the news, and look at news online.  There is SO much disgusting behavior that the liberals are pulling.  They don't have the records to argue with, so they do the low blows.  These "sweet, kind, tolerant" people do things like this:

But, as disgusting, vulgar and revolting that is, what makes me worry about the direction of our country is THIS one: 16 year old blogger gets DEATH THREATS because she simply said that she believed that the Bible says marriage is between one man and one woman.  Let me just say here and now ~ I believe like Madeleine McAulay at Faith Hope and Politics ~ I too believe that marriage was created by God and it is something sacred and honorable between man and woman.
But SERIOUSLY?!?!?!  A 16 year old girl is receiving death threats from fellow Americans because she voiced her opinion?!?!  There is something FUNDAMENTALLY wrong here.  I pray that I could have the same courage that she exhibits.  And the GRACE which she exhibits it.  She {and the others like her} are what truly give me hope for the future of my country.  Oh that we adults will stand up so that the young ones aren't doing it by themselves.  We need to take our cues from her {and others like her} to just fight for our country.  Let's not be the kind that let's them take the heat for voicing while we sit on our laurels behind them.  Let's not let them take the bullets for us.  Let's stand if not in front of them, let's stand with these brave young souls willing to receive death threats.

THAT is what this election is about.  Preserving this country and the freedoms in this country to allow our children to have the right to stand up and say what some of us are too lazy/scared/uncaring enough to say.
This election is NOT about sitting out throwing a "protest" fit because your guy isn't the nominee, so you just aren't going to vote.  No before we can change the direction of this country, we have to STOP the downward spiral.  Stopping it goes by the name of Romney.   No, he isn't my choice.  But he will be the one that I vote for come November.  Because we need to stop the direction we are heading.  PERIOD.

So, who's with me?!  Will you be voting this November.  Don't be part of the 100 million eligible voters who just choose NOT to vote.  Make plans NOW to cast that ballot.  We have to preserve and defend our country for those 16  year old bloggers who are receiving death threats.  For our children that they may see the greatness that our country has the possibility of being once again.  And for ourselves.

Lethargy

The dictionary defines Lethargy as "the quality or state of being drowsy and dull, listless and unenergetic or indifferent and lazy; apathetic or sluggish inactivity".  I can tell you that for myself, this is something I battle.  I battle this in alot of aspects of my life.  I fight it.  Sometimes, I fight it hard, and other times I just succumb to where the lethargy wants to take me.  


It's funny ironic.  In my Sunday school class we just started a new study.  We have started reading together the book by Beth Moore called Get Out of That Pit.  Kind of perfect timing for me.  I've been able to recognize the pits that I go through.  I cycle through them.  In all aspects of my life ~ family, marriage, overall self, spiritual, and political.  And I am just now beginning to recognize how A LOT of them start.  Apathy.  Indifference.  LETHARGY.


I also battle how I balance my faith with politics.  THAT is hard.  But, it really shouldn't be.  All of my political views come from the same place that I get my faith.  The Bible.  And that is how it should be.  But, I guess my balance issues come from how I express them.  I tend to have an acerbic communication style.  I know it.  And I try to  work on that.  I know I am not the best writer, and a lot of times what I say/type does not come out how I really want it to sound.  I call it "passionate" and it is, but most of the time I realize if I just type a post out or a reply and let it sit there before pressing the "post" button, I will be able to reread it after a few minutes and sound more intelligent and less harsh ~ if I have the patience to just let it all out.  I'm trying to learn that.  But oh, sometimes, with some people, oh............  Then I realize that does nothing for me except to make me look like an angry conservative or hypocritical Christian.   And what does that do for either "cause"?  Nothing.  Oh, how I long to be able to exercise Psalm 19:14 with every breath, with every word I type/say.  Psalm 19:14 (NIV 84):
 May the words of my mouth
 and the meditation of my heart 
be pleasing in your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer. 

I long to be a voice that makes a difference.  But then I see where that path leads and I think at times ~ "It's too hard"  or "there's too much work involved"  or "there's too much to risk putting myself out there".  And I become LETHARGIC.  And while I sit here being lethargic, my mind whirls.  And I think, "THIS is exactly why this country is where it is right now."
We, the People, have become SO comfortable.  We, the People, have become so accustomed to our way of life.  We sit back and let the few speak for us.  We get angry when the ones speaking don't say what we believe, but then we sit back on our laurels and let it go by without standing up and speaking for ourselves because that would be too hard, too uncomfortable, too much work.  We, the people, have been all too willing to stay stuck in the pit of our lethargy.  We are too comfortable in this horrible pit that we have sunk ourselves into.  


Here is an astonishing little statistic ~ Did you know that there are at least 100 million people in this country who are of voting age that just DON'T VOTE.  But the more astounding (and might I say extremely sad) statistic is that 65% of that 100 million claim to be CHRISTIANS.  This statistic is from Andy Andrews {author of How Do you Kill 11 Million People}.  And it is crushing to me.  I realized that there were Christians out there who didn't vote, but to realize that over 65 million Christians did NOT vote.  Oh, how sad.  This country could be so VASTLY different if we took our faith seriously ~ if we voted our faith.  I guess that is one reason why Paul wrote in  Ephesians 5:14 ~  
for it is light that makes everything visible. 
This is why it is said: 
“Wake up, O sleeper, 
rise from the dead, 
and Christ will shine on you.”

Okay, so Paul didn't write this verse about politics.  But Jesus told us we are the Light of the World ~ we are to make our light visible to all, and not hide it under a bushel.  Oh, conservatives.  Oh, CHRISTIANS ~ we need to wake up.  We need to get out of our Pit of Lethargy.  We need to fall to our knees and repent.   As it says in 2 Chronicles 7:14 
if my people, who are called by my name, 
will humble themselves and pray and 
seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, 
then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin
 and will heal their land.
We (and I am talking to myself, more than anyone here) need to wake up, and humble ourselves and beg God to show mercy and heal our land.

I don't want to be lethargic anymore.  Who is with me?

Who speaks for you?

Oh, sheesh.  My family and I went on a vacation ~ to DC and South Carolina ~  and had a marvelous time.  But since I have been back, UGH.  I don't even know where to start.  I'm feeling kind of frustrated with politics right now.  Do you ever get like that?  I have a few friends who I know feel that  way.    And the way I feel right now, I know if I try to articulate much of an opinion about any of these, I know the opportunity to sound bitter and angry is VERY much there.

So, here is a recap of things in my world that has been in my sphere ~ probably yours too ;)

First off, redistricting in NY state has been finalized ~ and it was great for us here in my district.  Our representative is still able to run for us!  The district lines were favorable and fair.  So glad I'll be able to vote for Rep. Buerkle.  She has been a good voice for us in New York.  Plus, she is a confirmed speaker at Smart Girl Summit this year!  Yay!

Now, the other things is where my "dander gets up", so to speak.  I was saddened by the news that Sen. Santorum suspended his campaign.  He was my pick, and I am so sad that I won't be able to cast my ballot for him in 12 days.  But, I don't blame him, although I was looking VERY much forward to having a homeschooler in the White House.  But, not yet.

Another one that gets me just plain angry ~ This whole fiasco.  The liberals are set on starting a Race war.  And the rhetoric and parties involved are ramping it up to a level that is totally not necessary.  And this one just boils my blood.  I see a total "Top down, bottom up, inside out" possibility which spells hard times ahead.

And finally (well, not really, but the last one I will mention) is this ~ Faux apology to Ann Romney .  UGH.  I repeat UGH.   And this war on women that the left has launched.  It's despicable.   And let me tell you, as much as they like to scream that they speak for all women out there.  They don't speak for me.  They don't speak for conservatives.  They don't speak for us.



Don't let them speak for you!  You are strong.  Use your voice!

Time for Conservative women to stand up!

"Republican Congresswoman Ann Marie Buerkle from New York’s 25th District has been ranked the most conservative woman in the House. She is wildly popular among pro-life groups, and her strong stance against government spending has earned her a Club for Growth rating of 92, a full 24 points higher than the next best rating in New York. Rep. Buerkle is a strong, independent, female conservative — the kind that the Republican Party sorely needs in Washington.
So naturally, the New York GOP is intentionally redistricting her out of her seat. Their own, self-drawn map places Rep. Buerkle in a nearly impossible electoral situation.
Anyone who is familiar with the New York Republican establishment shouldn’t be too surprised by this. In 2009, the state GOP forced the liberal, pro-union, pro-choice Dede Scozzafava onto the Republican ticket in the NY-09 special election, causing a third-party rebellion within the conservative movement that led to Scozzafava’s withdrawal from the race and endorsement of the Democrat over the conservative candidate. In 2010, the establishment tried to hoist candidate Rick Lazio onto the GOP gubernatorial ticket — only to result in yet another voter revolt that put Carl Paladino on the ballot, a candidate who went down in flames in November.
This time, instead of forcing a flawed candidate onto the ticket, the state GOP is trying to redistrict a good one — a great one, actually — out of contention, simply because..........."

Brokered, baby, brokered 2

Brokered, baby, brokered!!

While I am (like most Republicans) so tired of all this "politic-ing" during this nomination season, I have a small glimmer of hope at the end of this tunnel.   I'm holding out for a brokered convention.  Yup.  Though it wearies me to think of so much smear and nasty tactics employed by the wanna-be nominee's, I am willing to endure to get to a brokered convention.  It is an exciting thought to me.

But, if you are like me just a few months ago, and my husband just a few days ago, you may be wondering "What the heck is a brokered convention?  And why are you so excited for it?!"   Well, I will do my best to explain it to you, as I understand it.

According to Wikipedia (yes, I know not necessarily a reliable source, it does explain it pretty well) a brokered convention is " a situation in United States politics in which there are not enough delegates 'won' during the presidential primary and caucus elections for a single candidate to have a pre-existing majority, during the first official vote for a political party's presidential candidate at its nominating convention.  Once the first ballot, or vote, has occurred, and no candidate has a majority of the delegates' votes, the convention is then considered brokered; thereafter, the nomination is decided through a process of alternating political horse-trading, and additional re-votes. In this circumstance, all regular delegates (who, previously, were pledged to the candidate who had won their respective state's primary or caucus election) are "released," and are able to switch their allegiance to a different candidate before the next round of balloting. It is hoped that this 'freedom' will result in a re-vote resulting in a clear majority of delegates for one candidate."

 Summed up, all the pledged delegates would be released and the deal making would begin.  The August 2012 GOP Convention in Tampa could be one hotbed of fun.  One that I would LOVE to go to, but since I no longer live in Florida, that won't happen ;) . 

I have heard that a brokered convention could also bring in a party who could throw his (or her ;) ) hat into the ring and convince the delegates to give him or her the nomination.  I'm not too sure how realistic that could be, but can you just IMAGINE?!?!  Oh my.  I would love to see a brokered convention, Sarah Palin coming in and throwing her hat into the ring and bringing it home!  But, that is more than likely nothing more than just a dream.  But how AWESOME would that be?!  Or even someone else?  Who would you like?

Right now, I support Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich.  But for November 2012, my rallying cry is Anybody but Obama.  I may have to plug my nose when I walk to that voting booth, but I did that when I cast my vote for McCain.  And in all honesty, I only voted for McCain because of Sarah Palin.  But, oh the dream of a brokered convention.  Just think about it.  We (Republicans) haven't had a "brokered" convention since 1948.   We could see something that is pretty rare!  History!  Yes, I realize we see historic things happen everyday, but it would be so fun to see a brokered convention!

Redistricting

When politicians chose their voters, district lines are at times purposefully drawn to eliminate challengers.  And this is where the problems arise.  Because of the 2010 census, the state of New York will lose some congressional seats.  I do believe the total number that we will lose is 2.  There have been many proposals.  And, there are some of our representatives that are going to suffer from the lines that have been proposed.

The one that concerns me the most is the representative of my district.  As of right now, I live in the 25th congressional district of New York State.  My representative is Rep. Ann Marie Buerkle.  She has been ranked as being one of the most conservative (if not the most conservative) woman in Congress.  She does not cow tow to the party line.   "Since Buerkle captured the Syracuse area congressional seat in a 2010 election upset, she has been loath to play the game others rely on for self-preservation: She didn’t contribute to state Senate Republicans; she didn’t hire a lobbyist to watch out for her in Albany; and she didn’t sponsor partisan bills to win political friends." ~ Mark Weiner

Needless to say, she doesn't have many friends in even her own party.  Which is terribly sad.  She has been a tremendous representative for our district.  And I find it a shame that even her fellow republicans are so intimidated by her that they can't get their act together to support someone in their own party.   I can't imagine feeling so inferior to someone who is doing good things for their constituents.  So, they decide it is in THEIR best interest to make sure she doesn't win.  Those politicians only care about what is good for themselves, not caring about their constituents.  It is no longer about WE THE PEOPLE ~ whether the politicians are in Washington DC or Albany.  Well, Rep. Buerkle cares about her state and the constituents of not only her district, but her state, also.

Because of all the skewed district proposals, Rep. Buerkle has requested a judge to reject the proposals.  The judge she petitioned will be redrawing the district map and hopefully that will be accepted and it will be unbiased.  If the lines are still skewed against her, she is considering running in another district ~ which she can according to state law ~ but what a shame for those of us in her current district if she has to change districts.

Sacred Honor

No where in the constitution or bill of rights does the phrase "separation of church and state" appear.  What the writers of the Bill of Rights were referring to was keeping a "state mandated religion" out.  They had that in England.  They didn't want that here.   They wanted the government to stay out of our churches ~ whether it be to regulate what is taught or to mandate religious institutions to provide things against their beliefs.
But there is a flip side to that.  They in no way REMOVED God from the government.  As a matter of fact, they infused God from the very beginning of our country.  The very first document of our history, the Mayflower Compact was so overtly filled with God.  And what our great country was founded on.
THE MAYFLOWER COMPACT 
In the name of God, Amen. We whose names are under-written, the loyal subjects of our dread sovereign Lord, King James, by the grace of God, of Great Britain, France, and Ireland King, Defender of the Faith, etc. Having undertaken, for the glory of God, and advancement of the Christian faith, and honor of our King and Country, a voyage to plant the first colony in the northern parts of Virginia, do by these presents solemnly and mutually, in the presence of God, and one of another, covenant and combine our selves together into a civil body politic, for our better ordering and preservation and furtherance of the ends aforesaid; and by virtue hereof to enact, constitute, and frame such just and equal laws, ordinances, acts, constitutions and offices, from time to time, as shall be thought most meet and convenient for the general good of the Colony, unto which we promise all due submission and obedience. "Having undertaken, for the glory of God, and advancement of the CHRISTIAN faith....."  This country was founded to involve God in the establishment of the government.

And, when our founding fathers declared our independence, they did so believing and involving God into the very essence of our independence.
And, in such eloquence that is lost forever, they wrote, at the end of the Declaration of Independence, "we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor."  Their sacred honor.  Unfortunately, I believe that concept is lost today.
While shoving Obamacare "we have to pass it to find out what's in it" down our throats, our "esteemed" {insert sarcasm} leader has reneged a promise he made to the people of this country.  He promised that churches/religious institutions wouldn't have to do what was against their conscience for the sake of the health care bill.  But guess what?!  We get yet another instance of his lack of  "sacred honor". 
{And, we have a woman who was willing to go on Congressional record that she can't afford her own birth control and she wants her religious school to be forced to provide it in their insurance plan.  She willing went on record touting her promiscuity.  Well, sweetie ~ stop running up bills you have no intention of paying.  We, the taxpayers, are sick and tired of you and your kind expecting us to carry you.  We work hard.  We are tired of paying for our healthcare and yours too.   We owe you nothing.  You want to go out and have a promiscuous life ~ LIVE WITH THE CONSEQUENCES.  Or learn to work for the money to pay for it yourself.  But it is NOT the governments job to force organizations who have a moral conviction about things such as abortion and birth control.  Respect yourself, darlin'.  Where is your honor?}
The government needs to get itself out of our churches.   Our forefathers set our constitution up to keep the government out of the church and religion, but it NEVER intended to keep "religion" out of the government.  The leaders of our government need to find their sacred honor.  SACRED HONOR.

Legacy

I had only just recently started listening to and "stalking" the websites of Andrew Breitbart.  But, he was a HUGE name and booming voice for the political Right.  For the Conservative Movement.  So, I was saddened this morning to jump on twitter to read Michelle Malkin tweet about the passing of Breitbart. 

Here is the link to his website confirming the sad news. 

Much prayers go out to his wife, 4 children and his extended family.  He leaves a legacy behind for political bloggers like myself.  We will pick up where his voice is no longer able to speak.  He leaves so much for us behind.  He leaves a great legacy.

What's wrong with the Constitution?!

On Friday, Democrat Kathy Hochul (NY26) made a rather astonishing statement at a town-hall meeting when asked about what portion of the constitution allowed the government to mandate a private or religious organization to pay for or provide contraception. Her response was “Well, basically, we are not looking to the constitution on that aspect”.   Are you kidding? Well, no, apparently she wasn’t kidding and while she tried to defend herself and the mandate she said that “basically, the decision has been made by this congress that American citizens are entitled to healthcare.” So, let me get this straight. We are entitled to.................................................................

Meeting a Congresswoman

My family and I had the awesome opportunity to go to the grand opening of Rep. Ann Marie Buerkle campaign office.  We had the amazing opportunity to meet her, talk with her, and even get our picture taken with her.

She is up for re-election this coming November.  And I am hoping I get to be involved in this.  I have been wanting to start getting a little more involved.  
My family and I got there a little early today (as we have a habit of doing), and after quite a few people came in, one lady told us that we had protesters trying to prevent entry into the campaign office.   This same lady told me there were about 25 of them and were very vocal.  My husband went to the front of the building to see what was going on, but the police were there by that time and they were dispersing.   They were carrying signs with slogans of "tax the 1%" and "tax the rich",  had a box of shoes that they were carrying saying things like "walk a mile in my shoes".  Protesting her vote on the unemployment benefits extension.     Here is the link if you are interested.  Buerkle Campaign Kickoff protesters

She was very gracious today ~ she woke up ill this morning, and yet she still made it to a town hall meeting and this opening.  She said in her speech today that the vision she is working for says that "we are endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable rights ~ life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.  And that the rights belong to us as individuals and the governments ONLY job is to protect those rights, not to grant those rights."   It is refreshing to hear a representative echo the sentiments that I believe.  That government has gotten too big.  That government has taken over too much.  That government is just not what our constitution insists that should be.  She said that this election would be about personal attacks.  She said that she will keep her campaign about nothing BUT the issues.  Rep. Buerkle is determined to make the issues matter.  She mentioned that our state is undergoing redistricting, and no one is sure yet what all that means.  She did refer to the protesters today, saying that it is wonderful that we live in a country where the right to protest is protected.  But that we should not give any more handouts, but we need to give handups.  She recognized the veterans and thanked them for their service. 

I was so grateful to be able to be a part of this today.   Being a homeschooling mom, I want to help my children understand the process of our government.  It was also very nice to meet more like minded people in our area.  There was a nice camaraderie there today.  I had a wonderful time!  It is so nice to know that we do have representatives who care about the things we care about!
